The September 2021 Snap Shots features collectors and co-authors Hugh Nini and Neal Treadwell’s Zoom meeting presentation on their book “Loving: A Photographic History of Men in Love” Sunday, September 12. Published in 2020, the book is based on their collection of 3200 vintage photos from 1850 to 1950 showing romantic, loving male couples. Also in this issue: “Hidden Mothers” in 19th-century infant and child photographs; a new book by PHSNE member Paul Rheingold, “The Early Photographers of Lake Sunapee,” offers a glimpse of 19th-century resort life; the unusual TDC Stereo Vivid camera; and the passing of Faye Schulman, photographer, partisan resistance fighter, and Holocaust survivor.
