Don’t miss this one! Also in this issue: the rare Mercury CC-1500 35mm camera (1939-1942); Aperture’s new virtual PhotoBook Club hosted by Executive Director Sarah Meister—and it’s free. The Portland (ME) Art Museum announced a “transformative” gift of 600 photographs from Judy Glickman Lauder, with images from Gordon Parks, Margaret Bourke-White, Diane Arbus, and many others. The first exhibit is scheduled for October 2022. The Library of Congress and National Stereoscopic Association launched a National Stereoscopic Photography Research Collection, fellowship and public program to support one of the nation’s largest collections of this photography format. Research fellowship proposals with stipends are due April 15, 2022. In May, Christie’s will be auctioning a vintage Man Ray photograph of Le Violon d’Ingres (Kiki de Monparnasse)—estimates range between $5 million and $7 million.
