The March 2021 Snap Shots newsletter features “Street Vendor Portraits,” presented by Mary Panzer on Zoom. The commercial street portraits were a common sight from the 1930s-1970s in many places, such as Poland and South Africa (above). Panzer is former Curator of Photographs at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Other articles include: a response to the View-Master article in February; a detailed look at the Yashica Mat-124 G 6×6 twin-lens reflex; and expanded online access to digitized images at the Boston Public Library.
