PHSNE holds two auctions each year. The largest is typically held in the spring for one day only and is known far and wide as the Photographica Show. A second, typically smaller, auction is held as a monthly meeting, usually in late fall or early winter. Both auctions are open to the public for bidding.
Auction Information
PHSNE Auction at Photographica #89 - April 23, 2022
Photographica is back, and so is the in-person PHSNE Auction with 100+ lots. The auction begins at 4:30PM Saturday, April 23, 2022. Find more Photographica details here.
Sales Tax:
Massachusetts requires PHSNE to collect the 6.25 percent state sales tax from buyers at the organization's auctions. If you plan on bidding in PHSNE-sponsored auctions and enjoy a tax exemption, you must provide PHSNE with a copy of your tax certificate. This is true whether you live in Massachusetts or some other state. The certificate number alone is not enough: Massachusetts requires PHSNE to have a copy of the actual certificate on file.
You need to provide the certificate only once; PHSNE will keep your certificate on file for reference at future auctions. You can mail or e-mail a copy of your certificate any time prior to an auction, or bring a copy with you to the auction. PHSNE is required to collect the 6.25% state sales tax from any winning bidder who does not have a certificate on file.
You may send a copy of your certificate to:

History of Photographica
The Photographica Show and Auction is the largest event of its kind in New England—a full-day celebration of photography. The first Trade Show took place just six months after PHSNE's founding in 1973, and this popular event continues to attract visitors, collectors, dealers, buyers, and sellers from New England, across the country and around the world.
PHSNE members, students, and the public can browse and buy images, antique and modern film cameras, lenses, and other photographic equipment and ephemera from the 19th-century to the present day. Just one day this year – don’t miss this show!
