How do images – especially photographs – shape our understanding of the built and natural environment around us? Join us for a talk about the role images play in developing a critical eye for design over time. Alan Ward is a planner, designer and photographer, and a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FASLA), and his project sites include the Lincoln Memorial, and Reflecting Pool, US Embassies in the Hague, Helsinki and Beruit, and Marriott’s headquarters in Betheda, MD. He has authored a number of books on landscape design, including the award-winning book American Designed Landscapes: A Photographic Interpretation
