WHAT: PHOTOGRAPHICA 88 – the largest show of analog cameras, lenses, photographic equipment, supplies and images in New England.

WHEN: Saturday, April 6th, 2019 – ONE DAY ONLY!

WHERE: American Legion Post 440, 295 California Street, Newton MA

SHOW TIME: 9:00AM – 4:00PM
* Early-Bird Admission: 7:00AM (Extra cost)
* Dollar Table Opens: 11:00AM
* PHSNE Auction: 4:30PM until done.

Year after year, Photographica is well attended and highly successful. We invite the public and PHSNE members to join us and bring friends, family, and any photo enthusiasts you know. The Dollar Table will be open at 11:00 A.M. There’s a free cake and ice cream event at 1:00 P.M.

Besides the large free American Legion Post parking lot, there is additional parking across the street from the building on neighborhood side streets.

How do images – especially photographs – shape our understanding of the built and natural environment around us? Join us for a talk about the role images play in developing a critical eye for design over time. Alan Ward is a planner, designer and photographer, and a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FASLA), and his project sites include the Lincoln Memorial, and Reflecting Pool, US Embassies in the Hague, Helsinki and Beruit, and Marriott’s headquarters in Betheda, MD. He has authored a number of books on landscape design, including the award-winning book American Designed Landscapes: A Photographic Interpretation
